New-fangled Pet

New-fangled Pet
New-fangled Pet,

Statements uttered by Noel that led up to the

"appropriate-fun-with-the-fish" talk:

#1. "I'll sleep with my fishy ALL night!"

#2. "I can tickle my fishy."

#3. "I want to take my fishy for a walk."

#4. And some garbled speech (she was going on and on while seating in

the back of the car, as I was driving) combined with talk of a "fishy

bandage."

Note: The fish has successfully lived in our possession for a full 10 days now.

*LMAO* at "tickle my fishy" (and not in a perverted way, either). That girl is too cute ;)

LMFAO So does Noe need a leash for that fish? I can imagine her taking it for a walk 'round the tank... hey, she'll even be trying to play "fetch" with it I bet :)

Oh, and I found some fishy bandage for her too ;)

Those comments are priceless. I'm glad you blogged them. (more 21st embarrasment fodder). I love the fishy bandage comment. Kids just have those kinds of conversations with their toys/pets/imaginary friends all the time, and it's not often that we get to hear them...

Oh boy.
Perhaps you should remind her that bubble baths are also very, very inappropriate. As are manicures.

I learned the hard way.

Priceless!

Good luck, I could not keep my beta fish alive.

If it's any consolation, small fish like that have somewhere between .5 and 3 seconds of short-term memory and no long-term memory. Hence, even if Noel were to tickle the fishy, bandage the fishy, or drag the fishy down the sidewalk on a leash made of kite string, all those traumas would be forgotten and forgiven in the blink of an eye - assuming, of course, that the victim survives. Speaking of which, now might be a good time to jot down a rough outline for a "Where do fishies go when they die?" talk... just to have it ready.

Kay E:
Thanks, I *knew* you'd chuckle.

Rebekah:
Sweet! That's what I intended....

My Lever:
Yes, she NEEDS a leash. ;) LMAO.
And oh, but that fishy bandage suggestion of yours is SO WRONG. It would probably give Devan heart palpatations if he even sees sushi, much less wears a picture of it! Bad Lever...

Mummy/Crit:
Thanks babe! ;)

Jay:
LMFAO! Oh, you WOULD, wouldn't you! Give a fish a manicure.... *shakes head*

Fishlamp:
*huge grin* Awww, thanks! You're SO sweet...

SFMD:
*laughing...* WHich is too funny, considering you aptly handle much more complex animals, regularly.

Groucho C.:
LMAO. You are always the trivia-boy. That *was* good consolation. I'm not sure I'm ready for a death-talk, though....

oh you named it Devan ? awesome!

rebekah said...

hehehe yeah take it to school on a leash

you tell her i said it was ok to do so

Rebekah:
The 3-year-old-genuis gets credit for the name (although I did veto a couple nonsensical suggestions before we arrived at Devan.) ;)

Keeefer:
Ahh, thanks. *huge grin* And not to school, but she did moan about needing to take him on our 1000 mile roundtrip car adventure. I vetoed that, too.

Rebekah:
*shakes head* You're rouble.

Narthex:
Um, I'd say, 1 day, week, and anything over a month is significant when it comes to a fish. ;)

rebekah said...

hehe yes i'm rouble allright ;)

LMAO. OK. I swear there was a "t" in there when I typed it...luckily you're already an expert at interpreting my crap typing. ;)
