Explain to me that when something, even the worst, happens to a kid, a parent will always go for the camera.
The day I got my head stuck in the steps, instead of rescuing me, my mother laughed like a mofo and ran for the camera. Is this some innate instinct or what?
Jay- Well, honestly, as a friend and mother has uttered many times, "If the child is vocal, then you know that they're breathing." I think as a parent, you hear enough crying to know when it's REALLY serious and when, well, there's not much you can do and the crying'll be done when it's done-so in the mean time why not record it? ;) (I actually had the camera ready for the balloon launch-and ended up catching the crying as well.)
